What is Google Adsense
Google AdSense is an advertising program run by the giant Google. Website owners can generate revenue from their websites by registering as a publisher with Google Adsense, and placing google advertisements on their website. Publishers can place different types of Ads: image, text and video. Publishers earn money anytime a visitor clicks on the adverts.
If you have a website with good content and traffic, you can monetize it with Google Adsense. Sign up to become a publisher, Google will review your website and then accept/reject your application (you only have to apply once, even if you have more then one site). Once the application is accepted, publishers are assigned a unique "publisher ID," which can be used on any number of sites that they own.
Google AdSense matches ads to the site's content, hence the ads are relevant to your webpages and have more chances of getting clicked. Google Adsense Ads make Sense, and are therefore, more effective in bringing targetted traffic to the advertiser's websites. You can earn anywhere from $0.05 to $5 per click. Once your total earning reaches $100, you will receive the payment from Google via Cheque or BACs.
Beware of Click fraud. When someone sets up a website and through a system or scheme automatically clicks on the Google AdSense ads or encourages visitors to click on advertisements and tries to get paid. Google is always on the lookout for click thru fraud and can issue warnings and then decide to terminate a publisher's account.

Tips & Tricks to Maximize Google Adsesnse Revenue
First thing you need to do is "Read the Google Adsense Program Policy". I cannot emphasize this enough. Make sure you read the guidelines thoroughly and then follow them religiously. Google does not allow certain content including sexual content, crude language etc. Avoid such content at all costs. Read the policies and follow them.
- Placement Google Adverts:It is a proven fact visitors first look on the site is the top left position. As this is the place that is sure to catch the visitor's eye, it is a very good position for your Google Ads.
- Also, try to place your AdSense ads above the fold on your site. This will make them appear on the top half of the page; so if your visitors don't find what they're looking for on your website, and decide to leave, they can still view the ads and may click on them.
- Blend the Advertisements: Use the different formats and color palettes to make the Google Ads blend with the original colour theme of your webpages. Better yet, Create a custom palette for your ads. The ads should look like a part of the content rather than Advertisements.
- Say No to Borders: Proven by research, Google Adsense ads without borders tend to generate more clicks as compared with advertisements with borders.
- Use 300 x 250 Medium Ad Unit Rectangle: The best type of ad is the medium ad unit rectangle 300 x 250, as this ad has been proven scientifically to provide a high click through rate.
- Use the Filter to Block Competitor's Ad: Google adsense has a feature called Competitive Filter which allows publishers to filter up to 200 URLs. Block your competitors and prevent them from taking away your visitors. You can also block MFA's (made for adsense sites) from appearing on your site. Ads BlackList maintain a list of known MFA websites; you can find MFA's in your niche and copy the sites and add them to your competitive ad filter.
- High Quality Content: If your website has high quality content and valuable information, your website will attract traffic, and loyal visitors. And you will earn from Google Adsense.
- Google Adsense Section Targeting According to Google: "Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and HTML content that you'd like us to emphasize or downplay when matching ads to your site's content " To avoid the deviation of Google Ads from the topic of your website, use Google Ad section targeting. All you need to do is enclose the keywords that you want Google to use in comment tags, your keywords here and enclose the content that you want google to ignore your keywords here
