Many site or blog owners believe that by just placing adsense code within their sites that money will start rolling in. The fact is most don't utilize the right techniques to make money with Google Adsense.
The first thing to do is ads placement. Create an ad that is 468 X 60 and place it on top of the content. It has been known that viewers will most likely click on those ads specially if the colors blend in within the content.
One more aspect that can help greatly for Google Adsense is keyword research. It is true that a site could generate millions of viewers but if most of those viewers are just occasional net surfers, it is not likely that they will click on any ads.
The key is to get targeted viewers and you can do that by keyword research. For example you could have a title like " buy cars" which is a broad term and might bring a lot ofviewers but they are not targeted, meaning they are looking to buy a car but might be looking for cheap cars or hybrid cars etcetera. Choose three or four word keywords, and these will bring targeted viewers who are most likely to stay on your site longer and ultimately may click on your ads.
One tool that I use religiously is Google Keyword Tool. You can get all related keywords related to your primary one and add content to your site from there. With this tool you may also find about the monthly research volume, and the competition as well.
Keyword research is an important factor that you can utilize to narrow your targeted audience. It will bring less visitors but these will be targeted visitors that will be looking for what you are offering.
Do not overpopulate your site with too many ads. People believe that the more ads the more clicks he will get, that is a false expectation. If a web surfer happens to land in a site filled with ads, he or she will most likely just leave to look at another site. The key is to balance the number ads along with the content so everything looks as one.
Color selection is very important as well. Pick colors that will make the ads blend in with the structure of your site. You want to have the ads look as part of the site and that way viewers do not lose focus on what they are looking for and may believe that the ads are actually part of the site and ultimately click on them.
Make your site look professional, pick images that relate to your content or even videos. Again the key is balance, do not make it too comlpicated or too simple for the viewers or they will leave in seconds, you wnat to keep them around so they have a chance to click on those ads.
Ads placement, balance number of ads with content, keyword research, pick the right colors and make sure your site looks professional are some factors that will generate more clicks for your site and ultimately money for your pockets.
